The world’s first global scientific conference devoted to biomedical HIV prevention research starts Tuesday in Cape Town, South Africa . . .

photo (1)And Science Speaks will be there, covering news in antiretroviral-based HIV prevention, including treatment as prevention, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, and microbicides, vaccine research, medical circumcision, and more. Posts will cover presentations and discussions, with input from leading investigators. For now, the numbers:

  • People: 1,313 researchers, advocates, clinicians, policy makers, and public health experts from 48 countries were registered as of last week.
  • Research: 722 abstract presentations including 65 late breaker abstracts
